Position Overview:
The Development Officer will play a crucial role in supporting and driving the growth of Fair Life Africa Foundation. This position involves planning, organizing, and managing fundraising activities, creating strategic partnerships, and engaging with donors to secure the necessary resources to achieve our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fundraising Strategy & Implementation
– Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet annual revenue targets.
– Identify and cultivate relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations.
– Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives.
- Grant Writing & Management
– Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization’s goals.
– Prepare and submit grant proposals, ensuring compliance with requirements.
– Manage and report on the progress of funded projects.
- Donor Relations & Stewardship
– Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, ensuring effective communication and recognition.
– Develop and execute donor stewardship plans to enhance donor retention and engagement.
– Track and manage donor information using a donor management system.
- Marketing & Communications
– Collaborate with the communications team to develop compelling fundraising materials and campaigns.
– Create content for newsletters, social media, and other communication channels to promote fundraising initiatives.
– Represent the organization at events and speaking engagements.
- Collaboration & Teamwork
– Work closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and staff to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals.
– Provide regular updates and reports on fundraising progress and outcomes.
– Participate in strategic planning and contribute to organizational growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related role.
– Proven track record of successful fundraising and donor engagement.
– Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
– Strong organizational and project management abilities.
– Proficiency in donor management systems and fundraising software.
